If you are a nut for the beach, why not have a tropical wedding theme? You can make this theme work both indoors and outdoors (or, if you have access to one, even on a beach for the true tropical feel)! A beach is a stunning place to be on a nice day when the weather is warm and beautiful. It is so calming when the waves come up, and the sun makes the sand warm and glistening.

But what if you dont have access to a beach? No worries! You can recreate this beautiful environment with some simple decorations!

You need to first find your location to plan your tropical wedding theme. Whether it is in a house, in a church, or in a rental hall, you can still make it work! To do this theme indoors you just have to be a bit creative.

Use beach themed items in your decorations, such as:

* Sandboxes and sand pails

* Sandcastles

* Small plastic shovels and rakes

* Small umbrellas

* Beach towels

* Sea shells and star fish

After you have lined up your decorations, the next step is your invitations. Have your invites shaped into different items (like the ones listed above), and maybe sprinkle some sand on the inside of the envelope, for a just-from-the-beach feel.

The colors you could use for a beach look are peach, pink, and sandy tones, with some soft blues to accent. If you want to go more Caribbean style, then use some yellow and lime green too.

Use seashells and tropical flowers to decorate the alter area. Bougainvillea is a great choice for decorating the arch you will walk through. Seashells and orchids can adorn the candleholders. Also, if you are going to be outdoors you may want to substitute the new LED candle lights for real candles in case it gets windy. Tiki torches are another great light and decorating source. But Tiki torches should only be used outside.

You can set a bar up to look like a Polynesian bar made of bamboo and straw. Serve Polynesian or Caribbean drinks in fun glasses, with mini umbrellas and slices of fruit wedged onto the rims. Then have some macadamia nuts for guests to snack on while waiting for their drinks.

The centerpieces can be easily made for the tables by using baskets and filling them with tropical fruits. You can put a pineapple in the center and surround it with lemons, limes, and mangos. Another way to do the centerpieces is to fill vases with sand and seashells and place orchids in them. Let your creativity take over when you are planning your tropical theme and you will come up with some wonderful ideas!

Have your wedding cake made to look like a sand castle, with seashell decorations adorning it. You may choose to set your cake upon a bed of sugar sand that looks like real sand.

Have guests dress in theme-related attire, like flip-flops, sandals, grass skirts and tropical button down shirts with shorts for the men. This style of dress is much more relaxing and comfortable than your traditional formal wedding wear (especially for the men).

A tropical theme is a great way to express yourself, and make your wedding more fun, carefree and relaxed.
